Until The Rains Came

Once upon a time in a “very old”kingdom lived a “very old” man. He was a pleasant person but he was “very poor”. Perhaps it was because he was “very old-fashioned” and he continued to tend to his crops the way his father did, and his father before him. Nevertheless he kept to the old ways even though it had made him “very poor”.

One day it was “very rainy”, the thunder was “very loud”, and the water in the river broke the riverbanks. The water was moving “very fast” and it washed away many of the man’s crops. The next day when the rain stop the man found that almost all of his crops were gone. It was “very painful” for the man to see all of his hard work just washed away. His heart sunk and a “very serious” expressions came across his face, but then he saw something “very shiny” in the mud. He got down on his knees and grabbed the object.  It was a “very shiny” and “very pretty” yellow rock, but it wasn’t just any rock, it was a piece of GOLD……. and there wasn’t just one piece, it was everywhere. The heavy rains must of washed a ton of gold down from the mountain side.

All of a sudden the man forgot all about all of his crops. He thought to himself, “I am going to become “very rich”, all I have to do is collect all of this gold”.
space Until The Rains Came

Once upon a time in a “ancient”kingdom lived a “elderly” man. He was a pleasant person but he was“desuetude”. Perhaps it was because he was “archaic” and he continued to tend to his crops the way his father did, and his father before him. Nevertheless he kept to the old ways even though it had made him “very poor”.

One day it was “pouring”, the thunder was “deafening”, and the water in the river broke the riverbanks. The water was moving “rapidly” and it washed away many of the man’s crops. The next day when the rain stop the man found that almost all of his crops were gone. It was “excruciating” for the man to see all of his hard work just washed away. His heart sunk and a “grave”expressions came across his face, but then he saw something “gleaming” in the mud. He got down on his knees and grabbed the object.  It was a “gleaming” and “beautiful” yellow rock, but it wasn’t just any rock, it was a piece of GOLD……. and there wasn’t just one piece, it was everywhere. The heavy rains must of washed a ton of gold down from the mountain side.

All of a sudden the man forgot all about all of his crops. He thought to himself, “I am going to become “wealthy”, all I have to do is collect all of this gold”.

Instructions: Write a short story that uses as many of the provided adjectives as you can. Your story should be about 150 to 200 words long.  You will also need to write 2 versions of the same story. The first version of your story should use “very + a simple adjective” wherever possible. The second version of your story will be almost identical; however you will rewrite your story replacing all of the simple adjective phrase with it’s corresponding “interesting adjective”. Clearly identify the adjectives that you used by writing them in a different colour.

说明:尽可能用多个形容词来编写一则小故事,150-200 个字左右。你需要完成两个版本。第一个版本中的形容词需要是” “very + 简单形容词” ,第二个版本则需要用有趣形容词来代替第一个版本中所有的 “very + 简单形容词” 。请用不同颜色的笔标注出你的故事中所使用的形容词。
