In this project students will continue to explore the idea of planar graphics while introducing colour for added depth. With a return to abstraction students will need to explore and develop new skills, styles and design techniques. It is really helpful to find a famous artist to draw inspiration from such as Henri Matisse or any number of famous artists. The point here is not to copy a drawing but to mimic their style as students create their own original works.

Students will also explore other cultures as they draw inspiration from cultural photos from around the world that they find intriguing. A great source for reference material is the National Geographic Society.
